Beth Williamson's Cookie Stamp Collection

Beth Williamson's Collection

How long have you been collecting Rycraft stamps?
Since the early 1970’s.

Where did you find your stamps (family, store, garage sale, etc)?
Store, on travels, online.

What are your favorite Rycraft designs?
Depends on what I am making the cookies for. If for a choir party it would be my music and handbell designs. If for a potluck at church it might be the Luther Rose and cross designs. For a memorial service I use the cross and butterfly designs.

How do you use your stamps (for cookies, crafts, etc)?
I mostly love to make fun cookies for events for the family.

Please tell us the story behind your collection.
My first stamp was the Celtic cross. I made them for dessert for a dinner I made for friends. One of the friends called them “Jesus cookies” ( he was a church organist at the time) so that is what I call that stamp, the Jesus cookie stamp.

How did you hear about Rycraft or how long have you been a customer?

I do not remember what store I found the first stamp at. But I have been making cookies with them since high school.

Shirley Coughlin's Cookie Stamp Collection

Top and left photos: Shirley’s large collection of cookie stamps.

Above photo: When Shirley unpacked the boxes which held her cookie stamp collection after her recent move, she discovered that some of the stamps which were in the display boards had been damaged in the move and the handles had  broken off. The ones which are Rycraft cookie stamps Robin will replace for Shirley as a special courtesy… even the very old dated stamps for which Robin still has the masters.

How long have you been collecting Rycraft stamps?

It seems like forever, but probably in 1994 at the Cookie Cutters Collectors Club meeting in Canton, Ohio.

Where did you find your stamps (family, store, garage sale, etc)?

All of the above. Nancy Brey was a great help in finding the annual cutter. This is before the internet. I actually went to Corvalis to the shop there and bought many at that time

What are your favorite Rycraft designs?

The nativity scenes and the different parts that make it up.

How do you use your stamps (for cookies, crafts, etc)?

I use them for cookies. Everyone asks if I have used all of them. No! But many.

Please tell us the story behind your collection.

I was one of those people who like the designs and thought it was fun to have them. I am a Home Economics teacher. So foods are what I love to do. Baking is what I like best. I was always looking for another interesting shape to use. The stamps are so easy to use it became a go to on many occasions.

How did you hear about Rycraft or how long have you been a customer?

Through the Cookie Cutter Collectors Club I learned about Rycraft. Since the early ’90 I have been a customer..

Angie Homuth's Cookie Stamp Collection

How long have you been collecting Rycraft stamps?

I’m guessing 20 years?? Our oldest child is 22 and I’m pretty sure it was before he was born. However my memory on details like this is getting less precise.

Where did you find your stamps (family, store, garage sale, etc)?

One year my husband surprised me and ordered a sand dollar, sea turtle and wise men. I have purchased some at a local store downtown. My sister found some at a garage sale.

What are your favorite Rycraft designs?

Heart and animal paw print.

How do you use your stamps (for cookies, crafts, etc)?

Cookies mostly. Each year we decorate a tea table for a local fundraiser and one year my theme was sea turtles. I made sea turtle cookies but I also used the cookie stamp with dry clay to make matching napkin rings.

Shown below is Angie’s sea-turtle-themed table.

Our son is currently a music major student at NDSU and their mascot is Bison so we have made the cookies for any different college events. Our nephews nursery was bison theme so we used that stamp for the baby shower cookies. When our daughter was little she was in a dance class and the recital theme was barnyard animals. We made cookies to match that theme using the barn, cow, sheep, horse, and rooster stamps.

Shown above is another of Angie’s tables, this one with horses as the theme.

Please tell us the story behind your collection.

I actually started with my first cookie press from the Meanwhile cookie press company. I was 17 and got a footprint cookie press. They were in business until I was in my 20’s. I was thrilled to learn about Rycraft and the EXTENSIVE collection of stamps. We enjoy making cookies for other people and we have lots of rubber stamps that match the cookie stamp so we make a coordinating greeting card to go along with the cookies and deliver them. This year for the tea fundraiser the theme of my table is cherries and I was so when I learned there is a cherry stamp. Yay!

How did you hear about Rycraft or how long have you been a customer?

I initially learned about the Rycraft brand from the local Stabo store in our community. Then after that I learned about the online option.

Please tell us the story behind your collection.

Rycraft stamps are very well known by bakers’ community in Japan, and I have lots of Japanese friends who own stamps. As I described in my previous inquiry message to you, I lost my stamp collection for a house fire, I need to restart my collection. I am hoping that you have different design of display other than that 28-piece display.

How did you hear about Rycraft or how long have you been a customer?

I ordered my first sets over 20 years ago

Laura Rose James' Cookie Stamp Collection

How long have you been collecting Rycraft stamps?

Since 1972

Where did you find your stamps (family, store, garage sale, etc)?

My mama bought them. We lived in Florida at the time. Her best friend also collected them. Her daughter, who was my best friend, still has hers and still collects and makes cookies with her son.

What are your favorite Rycraft designs?

The horse. The bunny. Looking forward to collecting more, especially the seahorse and sand dollar.

How do you use your stamps (for cookies, crafts, etc)?

I haven’t used them in decades. will do that soon. I’m inspired. If willing to create the custom one I requested, I’ll start making cookies for auctions that support the rescue efforts of the Galgo Espanol (Spanish Greyhound) and the Irish and English Greyhounds.

Please tell us the story behind your collection.

I’m not sure when my mama started collecting them. The earliest year on a stamp is ’72. I was born in ’67, and… I have endless fond memories of making cookies with [my mom] using these stamps. They were usually the peanut butter ones from the recipe book.

How did you hear about Rycraft or how long have you been a customer?

Since 1972. At least.
