Margaret Oliver's Grandma's Shortbread

Ingredients

1 or more Rycraft cookie stamps

2 sticks (1 cup) butter

2/3 cup powdered sugar

2 cups flour

Method

Cream butter and sugar. Then add flour a little at a time. Mix well; shape into small balls. Flatten with a cookie stamp. Press directly on the cookie sheet. Bake at 285-290º F for 45-55 minutes (until edges are golden brown). Remove cookies from baking sheet and cool thoroughly before painting with food coloring.
