Claire Montoya's Cream Cheese Cookies

Claire's Instructions for This Recipe

  • Combine butter and cream cheese, gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in egg yolk, orange peel , and vanilla.
  • Sift together flour and salt and blend gradually into cream cheese mixture.
  • Divide and form dough into 2 rolls 1 1/2 “ in diameter. Wrap and chill 1 hour.
  • For cookie stamps: cut 1/4” slices from chilled dough and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press each piece firmly with a lightly floured stamp.
  • Bake in 375 degree oven for 12 -15 minutes until light golden in color, cool on a rack.
