Gift Bags, Tags and Bow Decorations
Paper Casting Project
Use a painted paper casting from a Rycraft cookie stamp design
to decorate gift tags, bags and bows for the holidays!
Materials Needed
1 Rycraft cookie stamp or craft stamp #125 – Rose
100% cotton linter (Rycraft Cotton Linter)
1 paper casting* of design #125 – Rose (see Basic Paper Casting Instructions)
Paper for tag
Clear acrylic varnish
Acrylic paints: red, white, green, beige
Glue
*Note: Alternately, the casting for this project may be made from clay instead of paper (see Basic Clay Casting Instructions).
Instructions
1. Cut the paper to the size you would like for your tag. We used a piece of marbled paper approx. 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
2. Varnish the top and sides of the casting to seal the surface and let it dry thoroughly.
3. Paint the background around the rose beige and let dry.
4. Paint the rose with red and a mixture of red and white with a touch of beige on the top edges.
5. Paint the leaves with green mixed with white.
6. Varnish again to protect the surface.
7. Glue the casting to the top edge of the paper tag.
